Brass Sheet

Brass sheets are made of copper and zinc, and may also contain small amounts of other elements. The proportions of copper and zinc can vary, which affects the color and properties of the brass

Material Properties

Color: Brass is known for its bright gold-like appearance. Brass with more copper is softer and more golden, while brass with more zinc is harder and more silvery.
Corrosion resistance: Brass is resistant to many chemical corrodents, industrial atmospheres, and marine environments.
Machinability: Brass is easy to machine.
Electrical and thermal conductivity: Brass is a good conductor of electricity and heat.

Material Chemical Compostion

Copper (Cu): Typically makes up 60–70% of brass. Copper improves corrosion resistance and machinability.
Zinc (Zn): Makes up the remaining 30–40% of brass. Zinc increases the strength and hardness of brass.
Other elements: Brass may also contain small amounts of lead, iron, aluminum, arsenic, phosphorus, manganese, and silicon.
